Position Description :
Builds state-of-the-art technology platforms using a new enterprise-wide multi-cloud strategy. Works with support teams to effectively address production defects. Participates and drives work intake and communities of practice forums. Meets with Database Support teams to identify new automation opportunities. Analyzes technical requirements and designs to develop automations. Works closely with the team on development and deployment of automation projects. Develops data protection and data backup scripts.
Primary Responsibilities:
Participates in automation task design and development process.
Works with multiple Business units to deploy automations in their space.
Provides demonstrations of the application new features.
Participates in Weekly meetings with Cloud enablement teams.
Develops understanding of new functionalities.
Build automations around new functionalities for end users.
Identifies technical challenges across multiple Business Unit Database Teams.
Proactively works with the technical architect to propose solutions for technical challenges.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience as a Principal Database Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing development of automations for database infrastructure deployment and maintenance (Server and Database) in multi-cloud (Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure) and On-prem environments in a financial services environment.
Or, alternatively, Master s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience as a Principal Database Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing development of automations for database infrastructure deployment and maintenance (Server and Database) in multi-cloud (Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure) and On-prem environments in a financial services environment.
Skills and Knowledge :
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (\u201CDE\u201D) building, delivering, configuring, and maintaining oracle databases in a cloud infrastructure (AWS and Azure) using Cloud formation templates, CLI commands and different CI/CD pipelines in concourse and Jenkins; performing the maintenance tasks on RDBMS platforms like Cockroach and Yugabyte in cloud infrastructure using different database silent install scripts/rpm, commands and CI/CD Pipelines; completing database migrations from On-prem to Cloud using CloudFormation Templates to provision EC2, database migration using backup and restore of the data using RMAN tool; performing EC2 deployments, VPC pairing, creating Cloud formation templates, defining IAM roles in AWS and Azure; and performing maintenance activities in both Azure and AWS using CLI commands.
DE completing oracle database administration tasks (install/upgrade/patching) in single and RAC environments using oracle database tools DBCA, RMAN, DGMGRL, SQL, and PL/SQL; performing database backup and restoring activities using RMAN and Commvault utilities; performing Golden gate configuration using oracle utility GGSCI\u00A0 (GoldenGate Software Command Interface); and performing oracle database in-place and out of place upgrades/Patching using Oracle utilities -- opatch, opatch auto, and ruInstaller.
DE installing and upgrading oracle enterprise manager agents using OEM tools and enterprise manager CLI; performing Oracle database monitoring configuration using OEM agents; developing the automations using scripting framework (bash/ksh/python); performing REST APIs and UI development using NodeJS and AngularJS and Java Script; and performing version control of the code using GitHub/Bitbucket.
