Job Title: Pipe Welder (Shop)

Job Description

Hiring for a Pipe Welder. Will be welding on pipe and pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter, primarily for the seals and pump industry. True job shop, pipe as small as 4" schedule 10, up to 10" schedule 160 or even small vessels. MIG and Flux Core welding on carbon or stainless steel.

Responsibilities

• Welding on pipe & small pressure vessels ranging from 4" to 10" in diameter.
• Fabricate parts for the seals and pump industry, adapting to various job shop projects.
• Weld in position and sometimes rolling it out
• MIG and Flux Core welding (sometimes TIG, sometimes Sub arc)

Essential Skills

• 7+ years of pipe welding experience.
• Welding pipe on a rollout.
• Weld 4" schedule 10 pipe, up to 10" schedule 160.
• Expertise in MIG and Flux Core Welding.
• Experience working with carbon steel and stainless steel 306 & 316.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Extensive experience in MIG and Flux Core welding.
• Proficiency in 6G welding.
• Experience in short arc MIG and sub arc welding.
• Skills in TIG welding.
• Ability to weld on pressure vessels and handle thick or thin materials.

Work Environment

New and clean shop, non AC so it gets hot in the summer.

Around 20 workers, including assemblers, warehouse staff, welders, and CNC programmers.

Dress code includes steel toes, jeans, work shirt, and safety glasses.

1st shift, Monday to Friday from 6:00am to 6:30pm, with potential Saturday hours from 6:00am to 11:00am or 2:00pm depending on workflow.

Can't guarantee OT but very likely to work 60+ hours/week.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas 77075 area

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
