Petroleum Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Petroleum Engineer to join our clients team, focusing specifically on abandonment well projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in reservoir engineering, wellbore integrity, and regulatory compliance related to well abandonment. This role requires expertise in planning, executing, and managing the safe and efficient closure of oil and gas wells to industry standards and environmental regulations.

Key Responsibilities of the Petroleum Engineer:

  • Conduct detailed analysis and evaluation of well abandonment feasibility, considering reservoir conditions, wellbore integrity, and environmental factors.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive abandonment plans in compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including geologists, drilling engineers, and regulatory experts to ensure alignment on project objectives and execution strategies.
  • Perform risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies to address potential hazards associated with abandonment operations.
  • Monitor and optimize abandonment operations to ensure cost-efficiency while maintaining high safety and environmental standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance during all phases of abandonment projects, from planning and design to execution and post-abandonment monitoring.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies.

Requirements of the Petroleum Engineer:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in petroleum engineering with a focus on well abandonment projects within the oil and gas industry.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental protection, and regulatory compliance.
