We are currently seeking a full-time Payroll Accountant to oversee the activities necessary to process payroll in multiple states for our Mains’l Solutions Crew as well as provide other administrative duties. As a Payroll Accountant you will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate and timely processing of our multi-state payroll. You will work closely with the Solutions team to manage the payroll process, analyze payroll data, and ensure compliance with multi-state tax laws and regulations. This position will work alongside our HR department as well to ensure accurate employee data, stay current with local, state, and federal payroll and tax laws, and set up payroll in new states as needed.
This position will supervise the administrative assistant within our Mains’l Solutions team, providing coaching and development, and engaging in performance management. They will take part in our recognition committee as well, supporting employee engagement and a fun working environment. They will work alongside that team, taking part in the planning and execution of a variety of company events and initiatives.

Job Duties Include:
Processes bi-weekly payroll for a growing team in multiple states
Submitting payroll-related banking transactions
Processing voluntary and involuntary deductions
Submitting pay period payment for taxes, deductions, and garnishments
Entering and updating employee payroll information in software system
Maintaining and improving the time keeping system
Compiling and distribution of payroll reports
Providing positive customer service and assistance to payroll-related stakeholders
Reconciling, completing all tax forms, and making tax payments per pay period/quarterly/annually in accordance with state and federal regulations
Year-end filing and distribution of W-2s and 1099’s
Keeping informed of the payroll processing system updates and changes in wage and tax laws
Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data and maintain employee payroll records; and accurate reporting as needed
Supervision of Administrative Assistant
Qualifications/Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting related field, or equitable experience is required.
3-5 years of experience in payroll accounting; 1-2 years of experience in multi-state payroll
Technical computer experience, especially in Excel
Innovative, looking for system enhancements and process improvements
Effective communicator, both oral and written
Attention to detail
Knowledge of federal and state payroll regulations
Collaborative and inclusive with stakeholders and employees, ensuring their needs and expectations are met
Flexible, able to adapt to changing roles, responsibilities, and environment
High level of integrity for maintaining confidentiality of employees and the people we serve
Work structure: Hybrid work environment with a minimum of 3 days in office per week
Salary: $56,268.00-$74,808.00 annually
