Job Description: As a Part-Time Greenhouse Worker & Animal Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the daily operations of our greenhouse and the care of our farm animals. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for organic farming and animal welfare, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist with planting and transplanting seedlings in the greenhouse.
* Water and fertilize plants in accordance with organic standards.
* Monitor plant health, report issues, and assist with pest management using organic methods.
* Harvest produce and prepare it for market or delivery.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization of the greenhouse and tools.
* Ensure the health and well-being of farm animals by providing daily care, including feeding and monitoring.
* Clean and maintain animal enclosures, barns, and other areas for a sanitary environment.
* Assist with grooming, administering medications, and monitoring animal behavior.
* Participate in record-keeping related to animal health and feeding schedules.
* Support in organizing and maintaining animal care supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
* Previous experience in gardening, farming, or greenhouse work preferred.
* Previous experience working with animals, preferably on a farm, is desired.
* Knowledge of organic farming and animal care practices is a plus.
* Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting up to 50 lbs and working outdoors in various weather conditions.
* Strong attention to detail, observational skills, and proactive attitude.
* Reliable transportation to the farm and availability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday, 8 am-10 am and 4 pm-6 pm).
* Excellent communication skills for collaborating with the team.
