Position: Miscellaneous Steel Detailer

Reports to: Lead Detailer

We specialize in fast-track installations, plant shutdowns, relocation of industrial manufacturing equipment, and full-service turnkey construction. Position Summary

RAI is expanding our in-house detailing team due to our company’s growth. We are seeking an experienced Miscellaneous Steel Detailer with strong experience in detailing mezzanines, stairs, and handrails.

Essential Functions

  • Interpret construction documents to create a detailed 3-D model using SDS/2.
  • Check all connections for code and structural requirements.
  • Detail miscellaneous steel including mezzanines, stairs, handrails, and ladders.
  • Create detailed shop drawings for steel fabrication.
  • Develop erection drawings and anchor setting plans for field use.
  • Generate reports and downloads to assist other team members.
  • Coordinate with other team members to ensure quality and schedule are maintained.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience detailing miscellaneous steel.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience detailing in SDS/2.
  • Understanding of AISC, OSHA, and AWS standards and procedures as they relate to steel fabrication and erection preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented communication skills.
  • Experience with Google Suite and Bluebeam preferred.
  • Structural steel detailing experience preferred.
  • Checking experience is a plus.
  • Authorized to work in the US (proof of this status will be required upon employment). We are not able to offer sponsorship at this time.

Work Setting

In-office preferred with a possibility for a hybrid or remote schedule depending on experience.
