Job Description

Overview: We are seeking a highly technical and security-cleared Microsoft Purview Engineer with deep expertise in Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud Architecture. This role is based in the Arlington, VA area and requires an active Top Secret (TS) or Interim TS clearance. The ideal SME/candidate will be a hands-on architect and engineer capable of designing secure cloud infrastructure, implementing advanced authentication schemes, Microsoft Purview component and troubleshooting complex API integrations.

General Key Responsibilities:

Microsoft Purview (Primary Focus)

• Architect and deploy Microsoft Purview solutions for data governance, classification, and compliance.
• Configure scanning rules, data maps, sensitivity labels, and retention policies across hybrid environments.
• Integrate Purview with Microsoft Defender, Compliance Center, and external data sources.
• Troubleshoot authentication flows, API connectivity, and data lineage issues.
• Develop infrastructure diagrams, governance workflows, and technical documentation.

Microsoft 365 Engineering

• Design and support M365 services including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
• Implement secure authentication protocols (OAuth, SAML, OpenID Connect) and conditional access policies.
• Manage hybrid identity configurations and secure collaboration environments.
• Monitor service health, optimize performance, and ensure compliance with federal standards.

Azure Cloud Architecture

• Design secure, scalable Azure infrastructure using IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
• Implement Azure AD, Key Vault, API Management, and RBAC policies.
• Create and maintain infrastructure diagrams and reference architectures.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance
• Microsoft Certified: M365 Enterprise Administrator Expert
• Other Microsoft certifications

Qualifications:

• Must be a US Citizen with Active Secret or Top Secret (TS) TS clearance
• Local to Arlington, VA or willing to relocate- Onsite is required.
• 5+ years of experience in Microsoft cloud technologies (Purview, M365, Azure).
• Strong understanding of authentication protocols and API troubleshooting.
• Proven ability to design and document complex infrastructure and governance models.
• Proficiency with PowerShell, Graph API, and Azure CLI.
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
• Microsoft Certified: Information Protection and Compliance
• Microsoft Certified: M365 Enterprise Administrator Expert
