Job Description

Champion Laboratories is hiring a MANUFACTURING ENGINEER to work on site on our plant, located in Albion, IL.

The MANUFACTURING ENGINEER will assist by:

Principal activities

• The Manufacturing Engineer reports to the Manager Manufacturing Engineering who reports to the Director of Manufacturing Services. The incumbent evaluates and/or proposes areas for improvement in manufacturing processes.
• Design equipment and processes to manufacture product in the most cost-effective manner.
• Estimate project budgets and schedules accurately to assure timely completion.
• Provide technical assistance to other service and manufacturing departments within the company to aid in making improvements and/or correcting problems with existing manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Determine the practicality and cost effectiveness on the installation or modification of machinery and/or processes.
• During the process of completing a project, the Manufacturing Engineer may work in conjunction with equipment suppliers, Product Engineering, and other various manufacturing and service departments.

Preferred Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent in education and experience.
• 1-3 years experience in Engineering related field
• Good working knowledge of machinery components and their functions
• General knowledge of PLC programming logic circuits
• Strong Mathematical background
• Proficient in autocad drawings
• Knowledge of machining principles and methods
• Drafting/Sketching ability
• Strong Project Management skills
