POSITION SUMMARY: 

 Under general supervision, the Locksmith installs, repairs, modifies, and opens a variety of locking mechanisms found on doors,desks,compartments,mobile equipment,safes,and vaults.

TYPICAL DUTIES: 

1.Examines Locking Mechanisms And Installs New Units. 

2.Disassemble Unit And Replace Worn Tumblers, springs, and other parts.

3.Repairs parts by filing, drilling, chiseling grinding. 

4. Opens door locks by moving lock pick in cylinder or opening safe locks by listening to lock sounds, or drilling. 

5.Makes New Or Duplicate Keys, using key cutting machine. 

6.Changes combinations by inserting new or repaired tumblers in lock. 7.*Establishes Keying Systems For Buildings. 

8.Install and repair panic hardware. 

9.Frequent Travel Between Facilities. 

10.Complies with PRIDE’s safety program and adheres to proper safety practices. 11.Performs Other Duties And Special Projects As Assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS

: 
- Three (3) years progressively responsible experience, typically acquired through on-the-job training or through formal apprenticeship training program,or equivalent training and experience;

-Basic math and computer skills; 
-Knowledge of tools and equipment common to the locksmith trade; 
- Effective communication and customer service skills to act responsively to customer inquiries and requests,and escalate the more difficult matters appropriately. 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: 
High School Diploma or GED 

CERTIFICATES OR LICENSES REQUIRED: The following licenses or certificates may be required depending on local, state and/or contract requirements: 

Fed Security Clearance 
GSA Safe&Vault Tech Cert
Locksmith Certificate 
Valid Driver's License 

Additional Information

Hourly Wage: $23.54 an hour

CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: 

• Drivers License 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended period of time with or without assistance: • Maneuvering to and around equipment 

• Standing And Walking 

• Bending, stooping, kneeling and reaching 

• Lifting Of Boxes Or Equipment Up To 50 Pounds 

• Climbing step stools or ladders 

• Transporting To Various Locations Within Customer Site
