Mama's Java Cafe is a locally owned and family run cafe in Nolensville, TN. We take pride in offering made-to-order food and drinks, including specialty air-roasted coffee roasted in-house. Our cafe is known for its warm and friendly atmosphere, where customers can enjoy a wide variety of flavorsome dishes and specialty coffees. We are also dedicated to giving back to the community whenever possible.

Job Description:

We are seeking a talented and dynamic Line Cook to join our kitchen team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing ingredients, following recipes, and ensuring the freshness and quality of our menu items. You will work closely with a team of cooks to handle orders from various avenues, including in-house, online, call ahead, and drive-thru. Additionally, you will maintain a clean and safe workspace, following all kitchen health and safety regulations.

Job Responsibilities:

• Memorize recipes, policies, procedures, and standard portion sizes
• Prepare ingredients and components for each recipe on the menu
• Maintain freshness of products and rotate old stock
• Collaborate with a team of cooks to handle varying levels of activity
• Maintain a clean, sanitary, and safe workspace
• Follow all kitchen health and safety regulations
• Manage food storage, stock, and ingredient orders
• Collaborate with management on labor and food cost

Job Requirements:

• Prior experience as a cook, preferably in quick service breakfast/lunch
• Skilled in operating kitchen equipment (no fryer!)
• Knowledge of and adherence to sanitation procedures
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to multitask and delegate effectively
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Willingness to invest time in our young adults working
