Position Summary

The Informatics Assistant supports the clinical informatics team by assisting with data entry, system updates, workflow documentation, training preparation, and basic troubleshooting. This role is ideal for individuals interested in healthcare technology and looking to grow into higher-level informatics positions.

Key Responsibilities

System Support & Maintenance
• Assist with updating clinical systems, templates, and user profiles.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate issues to informatics specialists or IT.
• Help test new system features, upgrades, and workflows.

Data Entry & Documentation
• Enter, verify, and maintain accurate clinical or operational data.
• Support data cleanup projects and ensure data integrity.
• Prepare documentation such as workflow diagrams, training materials, and job aids.

Training & User Assistance
• Help prepare training sessions, materials, and user guides.
• Provide basic support to staff learning new systems or workflows.
• Assist with onboarding new employees to clinical applications.

Workflow & Project Support
• Shadow clinical staff to observe workflows and gather information.
• Assist with small projects, including collecting feedback and tracking tasks.
• Support quality improvement initiatives by gathering and organizing data.

Communication & Coordination
• Serve as a point of contact for routine questions about clinical systems.
• Coordinate with IT, clinical teams, and informatics staff to resolve issues.
• Maintain logs of issues, updates, and user requests.

Qualifications Required
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer literacy and comfort with technology.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to learn new systems quickly.

Preferred
• Experience in a healthcare setting (clinic, hospital, long-term care, etc.).
• Familiarity with EHR systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.).
• Coursework or interest in health informatics, IT, or healthcare administration.
