Job Description

Live-in Only - 14 on / 7 off schedule for this Houseparent position

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of children? As a Houseparent in our live-in children's residential home, you'll have the unique opportunity to do just that—while becoming part of a vibrant and supportive community.

In this role, you will provide a safe, nurturing environment where children can thrive. From helping with homework to guiding bedtime routines, you'll be a key influence in their daily lives. You'll help foster a structured, caring atmosphere that promotes independence, responsibility, and the development of social skills. You'll also guide positive relationships between the children and staff, helping to create a true sense of family within the home.

Houseparents manage household responsibilities such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry while working as part of a close-knit team. Excellent communication skills, professionalism, and confidentiality are essential in this role as you partner with other staff members to ensure the best possible care.

Why Join Our Community?

By becoming a Houseparent, you’re not just taking on a job—you’re becoming part of a community dedicated to the well-being of children. Living on-site means you’ll have the opportunity to build deeper connections with the children in your care and experience the rewarding, close-knit culture we’ve cultivated. The benefits of living in this community extend beyond just the work you do—you'll experience support, camaraderie, and the chance to make lifelong friendships with fellow staff.

This is a live-in position with a flexible 14 days on/7 days off schedule that allows you to fully engage with the children while also having time to recharge.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or related field preferred).
  • Experience working with children, ideally in a residential or group care setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and trauma-informed care.
  • Ability to form meaningful relationships with children from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
  • Must pass comprehensive background checks.

Benefits:

  • Competitive salary package.
  • Room and board provided.
  • Health insurance coverage.
  • Paid time off and holidays.
  • Training and professional development opportunities.
  • 403(b) Retirement plan.
  • The fulfillment of making a positive impact on children's lives.

At Boys & Girls Country, our culture is built on community, engagement, diversity, and inclusion. We offer an inclusive environment where every team member is valued and empowered to contribute their unique talents. Together, we’re making a lasting difference in the lives of children and creating a workplace where everyone belongs.
