Description ALBERT HOTEL is hiring for a HOUSEKEEPING MANAGER Albert Hotel is located on a three-acre site from 242 to 248 East Main Street, Fredericksburg, TX. The hotel itself is tucked away from Main Street located behind the original historic buildings, creating a peaceful escape offering quiet sophistication just off bustling Main Street. The hotel has 110 guest rooms, including bunkrooms, suites, and a private house, and each room will have tailored amenities, custom-designed furniture, and little extras to make guests feel at home. The property has three restaurants, one bar, a private dining room, and will offer in-room dining. Guests can enjoy the inviting outdoor lagoon-style pool, a fitness center, and a 2,000 sq. foot full-service spa. The property is ideal for hosting events, with a 3,600 square-foot event space and a 1,200 square-foot mezzanine deck and event lawn.
JOB SUMMARY The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for managing the daily operations of the department, upholding
department standards for cleanliness, ensuring quality product, and delivering an exceptional guest experience.
This role will follow the policies, standards, and guidelines established by New Waterloo, the Department of Health,
and any other applicable government agencies.
What You'll Do: - Manage departmental budget + P&L and communicate relevant goals and strategies to the team
- Create, review and monitor staff schedules to ensure there is sufficient coverage at all times; demonstrate a working understanding of labor cost control through effective scheduling and proactive management
- Have knowledge of and the ability to perform all duties of housekeeping and laundry attendants; assist with responsibilities and duties of housekeeping and laundry services daily
- Address and communicate guest concerns, requests, and special requirements in a timely manner to ensure guest satisfaction
- Hire, train, and develop new staff members according to the departments staffing guide and training outlines
- Prepare work priorities by obtaining a list of vacant rooms that need to be cleaned immediately, and a list of prospective check-outs
- Provide room availability information by informing teams of rooms ready for occupancy
- Maintain rooms and common areas of the hotel by conducting visual inspections of furniture, walls, and floor coverings; taking or recommending action as needed
- Contribute to team efforts by leading staff meetings; discussing organizational policies and guest concerns; making recommendations to improve service and operations and implementing approved recommendations
- Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations
- Keep housekeeping supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders and verifying receipt
- Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs
- Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with all departments
- Possess knowledge of all guest services and amenities
- Assist the General Manager in managing hotel operations to maximize profitability and growth
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness, sanitation, and safety in the work area
- Ensure immediate response is given to guest comments and concerns; inform immediate supervisor and apply corrective measures when necessary
- Assist in the implementation of special projects
- Ensure open lines of communication with all departments and management via email, logbooks, meetings, etc. to ensure all needs of the outlet are met
- Maintain an increased awareness of safety issues throughout the property and keep abreast of safety and emergency procedures and OSHA requirements
Who you are: - You have the ability to interpret standard operating procedures, safety, and sanitation instructions.
- You are detail-oriented and take ownership of your work.
- You use your time wisely and are an expert in prioritizing.
- You have a strong work ethic and can work both autonomously and with a team.
- You're an excellent communicator and lead by example.
- You have 3+ years of supervisory experience in a housekeeping role preferred
- You are fluent in verbal and/or written English and Spanish preferred
