Job Description
Description:
Bok Tower Gardens is founded on the mission to make the world a bit better and more beautiful because you have lived in it. This mission inspires more than 250,000 visitors a year with public gardens designed by famed landscape architect Frederick Law Olmsted, Jr and opened in 1929. Founder Edward Bok developed the Gardens as a place of sanctuary and repose for the electrically driven people of America, a celebration of natural beauty, and an oasis for wildlife and humankind.
The Gardens feature Hammock Hollow Children’s Garden, a place for unstructured play and exploration; El Retiro, a 1930’s Mediterranean revival historic house museum; Pine Ridge Preserve, a nature preserve in various stages of restoration to the native sandhill natural endemic to the Lake Wales Ridge; and The Singing Tower, an architectural masterpiece that houses a world-class Carillon, the Anton Brees Carillon Library, and the Chao Research Center, home to the Gardens archival collections. The Gardens are home to the Rare Plant Conservation Program, which safeguards Florida’s native biodiversity and habitats before they vanish forever.
If you are passionate about horticulture and the environment, the benefits of spending time in nature, about making the world a bit better or more beautiful, and arts and culture, you belong at Bok Tower Gardens.
