Job Description
As the DJ for the Allen Americans, you will play a huge role in enhancing the fan experience by controlling the stadium energy using music, sound effects, and more, according to standards set by your Director of Operations. Working closely with the production team, you will be responsible for operating sound effect software, music tracks, and mixing equipment during games and other live events to ensure an engaging and dynamic listening experience at appropriate times in-event. As the DJ, you create unforgettable moments for fans by giving a soundtrack and enhancing the excitement of a hockey game.
Key Responsibilities: - Operate the audio equipment and programs during pregame, in game, and postgame, including between periods, and breaks in live play.
- Collaborate with Producer to fulfill specific music and sound effect elements.
- Closely monitor the progress of the game and make timely decisions on which content to fire, including music bpm, song genre, interactive fan prompts sounds, sponsorship activations, etc.
- Coordinate with the public address announcer/host and scoreboard operator to ensure that all audio tracks and cues are accurate and synchronized with other game elements.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with the audio system and work quickly to resolve any disruption in the listening experience.
- Build and continually update the music library and sound effect bank, including clipping tracks.
- Control and organize content like intro songs, music genre, moments, hotkeys.
- Attend any pre-production or post-production meetings and rehearsals as needed.
Qualifications: - Previous experience operating audio systems or similar DJ or mixing experience preferred, specifically in a sports or entertainment setting.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple content streams and ensure seamless transitions between them.
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, with the flexibility to adapt to changing game situations and audience preferences.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other members of the production team and game operations staff.
- A passion for hockey and an understanding of the game's nuances, enabling you to anticipate key moments and deliver compelling content to enhance the fan experience.
- Ability to attend all home games.(36 regular season + playoffs from October- potentially May )
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as games can occur during non-traditional working hours.
- A passion for hockey and a desire to watch and illustrate the essence of the game.
