Carney, Sandoe & Associates, an education recruitment firm, is currently seeking a Lower School French and Spanish Teacher for the 2025-2026 school year at an independent school in Baltimore, MD.

French and Spanish Teacher Responsibilities:

• Teach several sections, with a combination of French and Spanish, to students in grades PreK-Grade 4.
• Collaborate with colleagues to maintain and improve course curriculum as needed.
• Partner with colleagues to establish efficient grading and assessment practices.
• Developing lesson plans and curricula based on the needs of individual students.
• Conducting research on teaching methods, materials, and language games that can be used in class.
• Organizing feedback sessions with students and their parents if applicable.
• Offer learning recommendations and schedule intervention sessions for students requiring additional support.
• Teaching students about Spanish and French culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.

French and Spanish Teacher Requirements:

• An undergraduate degree in Spanish, French or a related field.
• High proficiency in both Spanish and French.
• At least 2 years of previous teaching experience.
• No teaching license or credential is required.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Well-organized and able to handle multiple responsibilities.

Additional Desired Qualities:

• Master's degree preferred.
• Willingness to work with lower school students.
• Passion for foreign language education.
• Desire to be involved in school-wide initiatives and extracurricular activities.
• Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
