Role Summary:

Reports to: Senior Managing Stylist

The Styling Sample Coordinator helps facilitate the current aesthetic by overseeing the daily workflow of samples in the Photo Studio throughout their lifecycle. They should exhibit a keen interest in the brand's identity and stay attuned to prevailing fashion trends in styling. Our work environment relies heavily on teamwork and cross-functional collaboration. We are seeking someone who is an excellent communicator, a self-starter and demonstrates personal accountability, initiative, and follow-through. This role collaborates closely with On-Figure/Flats Styling, Production, Merchandising, and Buying departments. The Styling Sample Coordinator should have strong organizational skills with the ability to anticipate problems and offer creative solutions. They should also be highly organized and have the willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Ownership over all samples in the studio building; collaborating with the Studio Operations Coordinator to maintain tracking systems.
  • Manage sample procurement for creative, campaign, and marketing purposes.
  • Partner with Merchandising Sample Coordinators to fulfill sample requests from both the Merchandising and Styling teams.
  • Conduct weekly inventory checks to ensure all samples in studio are present and shot. Coordinate any discrepancies with Studio Operations Coordinator.
  • Arrange for a timely return of vendor samples.
  • Ensure a prompt return of samples borrowed from the Distribution Center.
  • Oversee the sample sale schedule, partnering with buying and merchandising teams to remove marked down or out-of-stock samples from the studio sample closet.
  • Troubleshoot mislabeled samples and assist all studio members in printing correct tags.
  • Demonstrate extensive product knowledge of Free People merchandise.
  • Offer suggestions for improving studio processes and efficiencies.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing of all studio packages and partner with Studio Operations Coordinator on packing and unpacking duties.
  • Create set-lists for upcoming shoots and resolve any discrepancies with the Studio Operations Coordinator and File Management Team.
  • Assist the Styling team with sample-related tasks and ensure in-stock product is prioritized to be shot first.
  • Serve as a resource for the Styling team regarding sample location, key items, and product details such as fit and style.

Education: Bachelors Degree in Fashion, Business, or a related field, or equal work experience.
