Job Summary: Under the supervision of the ED/AVP of Operations/Adv Services, the Director, Prospect Research is responsible for executing all prospect research and due diligence requests from Foundation team members. Responsibilities: Develop tools and resources to be successful in identifying, reporting on, tracking, segmenting, and analyzing prospects and donors to meet annual and long-term fundraising objectives. Anticipate and respond appropriately to the needs of development officers by producing prospect profiles. Evaluate and maintain a system to assign prospects to gift officer portfolios and monitor related moves management activities. Secure prospect research vendors and reevaluate research vendors and tools. Develop and implement methods for identifying new potential prospects for relevant areas of responsibility for development officers. Design and develop studies and reports using research and screening tools on prospect constituencies. Keep current on research and fundraising trends through regular contact with development and research colleagues at peer institutions and vendors. Ensure delivery of high-quality briefing documents and prospect profiles for TGH executive leadership. Identify, develop, analyze, and maintain information on major gift prospects. Utilize a variety of research techniques and resources to prepare background reports, profiles, and other information. Present appropriate materials in response to requests for information, including but not limited to, in-depth individual profiles, summary information to support events, and background checks for naming opportunities, and other development-related information as requested by development staff. Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive information and uphold the Donor Bill of Rights and other ethical standards. Pursue professional development opportunities to stay abreast of changes and new developments in the field of prospect research. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field. Minimum 5 years' experience utilizing advanced research techniques and resources to assess and determine the viability of prospects; preparing research reports and briefings for executive leadership and board members; maintaining and organizing prospect records in accurate databases and central files. An equivalent combination of education and years of experience. Knowledge and experience with prospect research tools (e.g., DonorSearch, iWave, Blackbaud Analytics, Wealth Engine, etc.) and data mining/confirming research information. Knowledge of financial regulations and security protocols related to prospect research and fundraising operations. Knowledge of data and IT security protocols related to healthcare and/or fundraising operations. Familiarity with wealth screening tools and synthesizing research into the most pertinent information for fundraising operations.
