We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated Permanent Director of Meetings and Events to join our team. This individual will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of event planning and management, including liaising with vendors, ensuring client satisfaction, and managing budgets. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in conference services, budget analysis, working in a luxury hotel environment, and managing client relations.

Responsibilities

1. Oversee all aspects of event planning and execution, including budgeting, vendor selection and negotiation, contract management, logistics, and onsite management.
2. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of events.
3. Manage and lead the meetings and events team, providing guidance, support, and feedback to ensure a high level of performance and job satisfaction.
4. Conduct post-event evaluations to assess the success of the event and identify areas for improvement for future events.
5. Collaborate with various departments and stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of events.
6. Ensure all events are executed in compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies.
7. Develop and manage event budgets, providing regular updates to senior management and stakeholders.
8. Maintain a high level of industry knowledge and trends to ensure the company remains competitive and innovative in the meetings and events space.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Event Management, Business Administration, or related field.
2. 5+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a luxury hotel environment.
3. Proven experience in managing large scale events, including conferences, exhibitions, and corporate events.
4. Strong budget management skills, with a proven ability to manage large budgets and deliver events within budget.
5. Exceptional client relations skills, with a proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
6. Excellent leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
7. Strong negotiation skills, with a proven ability to negotiate favorable terms with vendors and suppliers.
8. Excellent organizational and project management skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver on time and within budget.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to think on your feet and make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
10. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
