We are seeking a highly skilled ESL Teacher to join our team. The ESL Teacher will employ a student-centered approach, effectively tailoring the instructional strategies to the individual students’ needs and approaching instruction with creativity and innovation.

Strategies may include, but are not limited to direct instruction, one-to-one instruction, seminars, small group learning, self-paced lessons, blended learning and courses, and online learning tools. This role will provide engaging and interactive English language instruction to students whose first language is not English. You will help learners improve their English communication skills, build confidence, and achieve their personal, academic, or professional goals.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design and deliver lessons tailored to the needs of students at varying proficiency levels
  • Develop and adapt teaching materials and resources to suit individual learning objectives.
  • Employ interactive and student-centered teaching methods to enhance language acquisition.
  • Assess students’ progress through assignments, tests, and oral communication activities.
  • Provide constructive feedback and strategies for improvement to students.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
  • Stay updated on ESL teaching best practices and incorporate innovative techniques.
  • Assess student progress and learning needs to build and shape instruction around student needs.
  • Create a positive classroom environment conducive to learning and educational growth of students, including behavior management that is firm, fair, and consistent.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • TEFL, TESOR, or CELTA certified preferred
  • Bilingual (English and Spanish)
  • Proven record of results that illustrate the teacher’s ability to increase student achievement utilizing subject-specific instructional strategies.
  • Broad knowledge of the principles and practices of current educational trends in curriculum and instruction.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse populations.
  • Respect and understanding of students' diverse cultural backgrounds.
  • Ability to create an inclusive and welcoming environment.
  • Awareness of potential cultural barriers to learning.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Preference will be given to candidates who are bilingual in English and Spanish, with additional language skills considered an advantage.
