**GENERAL PURPOSE:**

This position will serve as a hospitality escort and driver for special events and day trips for the Senior Center. Hours and days of work will vary according to schedule needs.

The salary range for this position is **$12.56- $20.00** per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

**Position will remain open until filled.**

**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:**

Meet with Recreation Coordinator to review and understand the established itineraries for the day trips or special events. Provides guest services to seniors as a hospitality escort providing instruction and guidance to guests. Some trips require operating a motor vehicle including an 11-passenger van. Provides on-site supervision for the day; assists with the miscellaneous duties related to the day trips or other special events.

**OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:**

**JOB QUALIFICATIONS:**

**Knowledge, skills and abilities****:**

Previous experience working with senior citizens and knowledge of senior activity programming highly desirable. Ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically with a diverse group of people, co-workers, and the general public. Must possess or be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification with (30) thirty days of employment. Must possess a valid drivers license at time of application.

**Education and/or formal training****:**

Course work in recreation, education or related field preferred but not required. Experience may be substituted for educational preference.

**Experience****:**

Six (6) months to one (1) year previous experience working with older adults preferred.

**Material and equipment directly used****:**

Vehicle (11 passenger van), AED, copier, telephone, kitchen equipment including microwave, dishwasher, range etc.

**Working Environment/physical activities****:**

Will perform the duties of this position in several different locations, both inside and outside environments. May expect to drive in differing weather conditions and may be exposed to dirt and sand. Will be required to bend, push, pull, stoop, kneel, carry and lift equipment to perform the essential functions of the job. In addition, will be required and is responsible for ensuring the safety of all participants by safe and proper usage of equipment.
