Serves as a member of the Recreational Activities staff. This position promotes and advances the mission and goals of the Recreation department in support of the mission of Montana State University Billings. This includes but is not limited to the operational oversight of rental events hosted in the PE Building (i.e., main gym, lower gym, fitness center, weight room, softball complex).
Education Required: High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience as an event manager; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
Experience Required: Up to five (5) years of progressive experience working sporting events. Two (2) years of event management experience. Experience working with university students. Experience in scheduling and event management. Experience working with community groups. Ability to problem solve and resolve conflict, and the desire to adapt to change.
Demonstrated excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Demonstrated leadership, organizational, decision-making, and conflict resolution abilities.
Education Preferred: Bachelors degree in Health & Human Performance, Physical Education, Recreation Management, Sports Management or related field. Up to date CPR/AED Certification.
Experience Preferred: Two (2) years supervisory experience.
