Join Albany Medical Center, a leading institution recognized as a Comprehensive Vascular Surgical Center. Our Vascular Surgery Unit, located in Schenectady, NY, focuses on treating patients with vascular diseases and those requiring telemetry monitoring.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will provide care to a diverse patient population ranging from 18 to over 90 years old, with a particular emphasis on those aged 45 to 65. You will engage with patients undergoing various procedures such as Carotid Endarterectomy, Lower Extremity Revascularization, and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm repairs.

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments, and document all care in accordance with policies and regulations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions effectively.
• Assess and evaluate patient needs and responses to the care provided.
• Employ sound nursing judgment in managing patient care.
• Provide primary and emergency care for both occupational and non-occupational health issues.
• Administer prescribed and over-the-counter medications as directed.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to develop and implement individualized Plans of Care for patients.
• Guide and supervise ancillary personnel while maintaining professional nursing standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• 1-3 years of clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care preferred.
• Strong communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality improvement principles and problem-solving techniques, with an ability to apply them to enhance patient care.
