Summary:

 

Our mission is to make the world better by making welding understandable. We design and execute customer support projects, demonstrations, and equipment/consumable development and evaluations. Efforts will focus on developing and implementing solutions with existing equipment and consumables or working with customers and internal teams on next-generation solutions. Internally Applications Engineering is the Voice of the Customer, externally we are the Welding Experts.

 

What You Will Do:

 

  • Provide technical support to Application Engineering technologists and/or engineers on customer support projects, demonstrations, and evaluations
  • Prepare lab stations and project set ups for development and/or demonstrations with customers
  • Basic to advanced welding (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, SAW, GTAW) and cutting for machine or  consumable evaluations and customer projects
  • Learn and support Lincoln Electric welding product lines
  • Maintain material inventory and material prep (Operate cutting and beveling equipment)
  • Order/Ship materials, equipment, and testing (internal and external)
  • Perform basic weld tests and prepare test samples (Macros, Bend tests)
  • Conduct tests with Radiographic Testing equipment for various components and materials.
  • May Interpret, evaluate, and document inspection results through formal paperwork.
  • May assist with maintenance of welding records and certifications in accordance with governing bodies such as ASNT, AWS, ASME, API, ISO, internal Lincoln Electric standards, and contract documents.
  • Assumes additional responsibilities as needed or directed in support of the Company’s 2025 Strategy.

 

Education & Experience Required:

 

All Levels

  • Willing and able to travel up to 15% of the time
  • RT level I certification, or willingness to achieve within first year of position

Level II

  • Vocational Training with 3+ Years of Experience or GED/Equivalent with 5+ Years in related field
  • Ability to develop proficiency in hands-on and/or mechanized welding processes and material prep
  • Works with a moderate degree of supervision

Level III

  • Vocational Training with 5+ Years of Experience or
  • GED/Equivalent with 7+ years in related field
  • Advanced welding and process knowledge
  • Has full proficiency in a range of technical processes or procedures (or deep skills in a single area) through job-related training and considerable work experience
