FlexStaff is seeking a Nonprofit Director, for our client, a full-service accounting firm in Suffolk County. Our client has been recognized as one of Long Island Business News's Best Places to Work for the fourth straight year.


Hybrid: 2-3 days in the office


The Nonprofit Director will act as a key client contact and staff mentor, supporting the growth and development of the nonprofit practice.


Responsibilities:

• Managing nonprofit assurance engagements, including scheduling, planning, and reviewing workpapers and deliverables
• Acting as the primary relationship manager for nonprofit clients, providing responsive, proactive support and presenting financial information to client boards
• Mentoring and training staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment
• Supporting firm-wide growth initiatives, including marketing and client development

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree (required); CPA or CIA licensure (required)
• 10+ years of relevant public accounting experience, preferably in the nonprofit sector
• Advanced knowledge of US GAAP, GAAS, and nonprofit-specific compliance standards
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with ProSystem fx Engagement and CCH Tax preferred

The salary range for this position is $150,000-$175,000/year
