Digital Print Production Specialist - 2nd Shift SUMMARY Responsible for all activities associated with running the assigned machine including setup, operation, cleanup, and recommending improvements to operations. Print Specialists must be proficient with technology, both in the form of computer software and printers. You must be able to troubleshoot when malfunctions occur, and you should be equipped to perform simple maintenance. You also need to have top-notch communication skills to communicate appropriately with team before, during, and after project completion. Your responsibilities as a printing technician are many, so flexibility is another key attribute of the job.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES - Controlling the production process equipment. A production specialist needs to calibrate the equipment so that it operates efficiently.
- Set-up rails, print, and die cut section on machine accurately in accordance with proper setup techniques.
- Inspect all dies before and after running to ensure that any necessary repairs are made before the next run.
- Ensure all bolts for cutting dies are in place and tightly secured.
- Monitor box quality, including, but not limited to, loose liner, warp, correct size, and print.
- Check anilox rolls for damage.
- Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
- Providing support to minimize hazards in the workplace.
- Learning about and applying new technologies and processes that could improve productivity.
- Responsible for meeting all quality and efficiency standards.
- Training new employees on the proper use of machines and safety standards.
- Communicating with production team to ensure a constant supply of manufacturing materials.
- Adheres to production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, and service goals. Reports any unusual scheduling issues to Supervisor.
- Routinely checking the equipment for any malfunctions or defects and report any concerns to supervision for needed repairs.
- Programs and operates high-speed digital equipment to produce distinct and uniform impressions while monitoring copy quality and equipment adjustments as required to achieve optimum image quality and productivity.
- Program the printer to the correct settings, you monitor printing progress, perform basic maintenance on printing machines, and complete any other duties specific to the job on which you are working.
- Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean orderly fashion and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Ensure correct materials are used to meet customer specifications.
- Ensure all inventory entries are complete and accurate.
- Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.
- Special projects as business dictate.
- Duties may be expanded upon, and additional duties may be assigned, to include cross-training on other machines.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES - This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
SCHEDULE - Ability to work 1st or 2nd shift.
- 8 to 12 hours shifts.
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS - Must be 18 years of age.
- High School/Technical or equivalent experience
- 1 year die cutting experience on any material.
- Large Format Die cutting experience a plus.
- Strong knowledge of machines in a manufacturing setting.
- Safe operation of paper machineryon the job training
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions including reading a tape measure, blueprints, production schematics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Work overtime when needed.
- Team-oriented and self-directed.
