Delivery Driver - Local Furniture

We have three manufacturing facilities, 12 corporate-owned retail showrooms, and a global distribution network. We have an opening for a Delivery Driver at our Manlius, NY facility. (Class B CDL driver license is preferred, but not required)

Job Responsibilities

• Deliver furniture to retail customer homes and/or businesses
• Carry the furniture into buildings with assistance of another driver or driver helper
• Responsible for the safe operation of any vehicle that is driven
• Responsible for reviewing and adhering to the driver code of conduct as established by Stickley
• Responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal motor carrier safety regulations, state and federal department of transportation regulations, OSHA, and other applicable state and federal laws. Specifically including but not limited to regulations surrounding hours of service, driver logs, driver vehicle condition reports
• Responsible for reviewing and planning the deliveries on loads they are assigned to deliver
• Reviews the paper work for the load and get an understanding of the geographic route for the load
• Review how the furniture is loaded on the truck before departing to ensure the furniture is loaded and secured properly
• At the point of delivery, the driver is responsible for interacting with the customer in presenting the delivery documents and collecting any unpaid balances
• Walks through the delivery site and plans a safe and efficient way to move the furniture into and through the building and to the placement of the product
• After the delivery secures a signature from the customer that indicates what was delivered and notes any exceptions and/or damages to the furniture or the customer's property
• Utilizes various devices such as carts, dollies, hand trucks, straps, etc. to aid in the delivery process
• Communicates as needed with customer service representatives and the transportation coordinator
