We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Cost Accountant in the manufacturing industry located in Central, Kentucky. The key role of this position is to assist in the financial analysis, budgeting, and business process improvements for the manufacturing operation.
Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with sales and production control staff to gather production volumes necessary for the manufacturing expense budget.
• Partner with material purchasing to establish raw material budget volumes and part standard costs.
• Undertake the preparation of overhead expense budgets for labor, expense, and product costs.
• Report financial and inventory transactional data.
• Conduct detailed analysis to monitor and establish variance causes and trends.
• Utilize MS Excel and other Microsoft Office Suite products for data analysis and reporting.
• Apply cost standard methods for efficient cost management.
• Engage in business analysis to identify areas for process improvements.
• Contribute to the development of product costings as part of new product development.
• Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities for the manufacturing operation.
• Candidate must possess a minimum of 4 years of experience in the Manufacturing industry
• Proficiency in 'Cost - Standard' is required
• Extensive expertise in using MS Excel for data analysis and reporting
• Strong business analysis skills to support strategic decision-making
• Experience in 'Cost - Product Development' is necessary
• Demonstrated skills in 'Budgeting - Forecasting' to aid financial planning
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is mandatory
• Professional certification such as CMA (Certified Management Accountant) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is preferred
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey financial information to non-financial stakeholders
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Knowledge of manufacturing accounting in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Experience with an ERP system is advantageous.
