We are on the lookout for a meticulous Cost Accountant to join our team in FORT PAYNE, Alabama. The successful candidate will be a significant part of our accounting team, providing crucial support to our manufacturing operations. The role involves a variety of tasks, including analyzing operational issues, supporting manufacturing accounting, and updating system software and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Perform monthly closing activities related to inventories, cost of sales, and departmental expenses.

• Assure the accuracy of cost and financial data.

• Conduct profit margin analysis.

• Carry out labor and spending variance analysis.

• Perform purchase price variance analysis.

• Complete balance sheet account reconciliations.

• Implement inventory reconciliations and roll forwards.

• Carry out product cost analysis.

• Assist in financial forecasts and budgets.

• Prepare weekly and monthly management reporting.

• Perform inventory/warranty reserve analysis.

• Handle intercompany transactions and analysis.

• Develop and track key metrics for operations.

• Proficient in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems

• Strong knowledge of accounting functions

• Experience in budget processes

• Background in manufacturing industry preferred

• Skilled in gross margin analysis

• Ability to perform cost variance analysis

• Knowledge in purchase price variance

• Experience in inventory reconciliation

• Proficient in budgeting and forecasting processes

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

• Excellent communication and analytical skills

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
