Our client in North Austin is seeking a Cost Accountant . Schedule: M-F, 8AM-5PM, Pay: 70k-80k

The Cost Accountant will support the Company accounting and finance department in analysis of inventory cost for multiple company business lines. Ideal Candidates wilt have a high energy, hands-on style; a desire to work at the detail and strategy levels; and want to succeed and grow in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee cost accounting procedures and methodology within company's ERP System (Netsuite)

• Create product BOMs, routings, and item master data for establishing and maintaining standard costs.

• Prepare monthly reports and analysis used to reconcile and validate COGS, gross margin, purchase price variance and inventory movements along with various manufacturing variances.

• Responsible for coordinating physical inventory planning.

• Leads inventory accounting activities including working with operations to improve work order cost tracking and inventory accuracy.

• Assists with general accounting responsibilities such as balance sheet account reconciliations and closing activities.

• Manages the Inventory Control Specialist and helps organize and prioritize tasks.

• Strong Organizational and communications skills to partner cross-departmentally with operations, product development and production

• Analyze, interpret, and communicate costs and expense variances to management.

• Work with management on time and material savings projects

• Assess current costing process and provide recommendations for improvement.

• Design and maintain weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports as requested including ad hoc reports etc.

• Continued development and implementation of the cost accounting inventory control process

• Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Experience & Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point and Teams)

• Analytical skids and capabilities

• Ability to be assertive, self-starter and to function with minimal direction.

• Experience with ERP systems such as Sage, Oracle, NetSuite (preferred)

• Advanced knowledge of Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, etc)

• Theoretical experience with FIFO

• Customer service oriented

• Possess ethics, honesty, and integrity.

• Possess excellent interpersonal skills.

• Possess excellent problem-solving skills and be able to identify new and inventive solutions.

• Ability to identify process deficiencies and create process improvements.

• Ability to maintain professionalism at all times.

• Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Cost accounting: 1 year

• ERP systems: 1 year

Preferred

• Experience with cost accounting/ analysis

• Completed cost accounting courses.

• Must have the ability to train other team members.

• Experience with ERP accounting systems, NetSuite Highly Preferred.

• Excellent communication skills

Education

• Associates/Bachelor 's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or business-related discipline. Relevant experience may be substituted for education on a year per year basis.

Pay Details: 70,000.00 to 80,000.00 per year
