A typical way to obtain the required knowledge and abilities would be: Experience: Two years of experience in jail operation and inmate supervision at a level equivalent to the County's class of Correctional Officer I. Training: Completion of twelfth grade, or G.E.D, supplemented by college level coursework in law enforcement or a related field. Required License or Certificate: Possession of, or ability to obtain a valid driver's license. Proof of adequate vehicle insurance and medical clearance may also be required.
