Job Title : Corporate Paralegal Department : Legal Transactions Reports to : Office Supervisor Status : Full-Time FLSA Status : Non-exempt Location : Virginia Beach Campus Position Purpose Liberty Tax is a leader in the tax preparation industry and is looking for a Corporate Paralegal to join its in-house legal team. As a Corporate Paralegal, you will support the legal department in the delivery of quality legal services, and assist the legal department on all day-to-day corporate and commercial matters, including, but not limited to, various transactional, corporate and litigation matters. In this role, you will need to be able to thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and constantly evolving environment. You'll need to have excellent problem-solving skills, meticulous organizational ability, and attention to detail. You'll also need to be interested in Liberty Tax's business, story, culture, and growth strategy. Position Responsibilities

• Assist with drafting, reviewing and revising legal documents including franchise agreements, amendments, default and termination notices, purchase agreements, and any other documents related to the franchisor-franchisee relationship
• Manage tracking of agreements by maintaining a central database of agreement and franchisee information
• Review and analyze transactional matters including, but not limited to, franchise sales and transfers, renewals, terminations, and corporate matters
• Assist with preparing, transmitting and tracking notices to cure, cease and desists, and other legal notices.
• Prepare letters and other communications regarding company matters as needed
• Work professionally and effectively with Compliance, Operations and Accounting Departments to process legal matters
• Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications

• Paralegal certificate from an ABA-approved program or other relevant combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of experience working as a paralegal in a law firm or on in-house legal team.
• Excellent drafting skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to carefully proofread all work, with exceptional attention to grammar, spelling, punctuation and sentence structure.
• Strong work ethic and reliable; able to handle a large volume of work.
• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Self-motivated and able to work both independently and within a team in high pressure situations.
• Knowledge of and/or skilled in using MS Office, Adobe, DocuSign, PACER, and Westlaw. Able to easily adapt to new technologies.
