Position Overview:

The company is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Controller to join their team and oversee the organization’s financial operations. This is a leadership role that involves managing accounting processes, driving key financial strategies, and ensuring regulatory compliance, specifically tailored to a banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the accounting department to ensure accurate financial reporting and efficient operations.
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with all regulatory guidelines and accounting principles.
  • Analyze financial data and provide actionable insights to executive leadership to guide strategic decisions.
  • Manage the development, implementation, and monitoring of internal controls within the banking environment.
  • Ensure compliance with industry-specific regulations, including FDIC, SEC, and other banking-related bodies.
  • Lead forecasting and budgeting processes to align with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Collaborate with external auditors and regulatory examiners during audits and reviews.
  • Evaluate and implement financial software tools to improve workflow and reporting efficiencies.
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for staff within the finance team.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA certification strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting and finance experience, including leadership roles; banking sector experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements specific to the banking industry.
  • Proven ability to manage teams, improve processes, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
