Shift:Tutoring sessions will take place at Presentation U: Speaking and Writing Center, located in The Hub of W.T. Young Library, during regular tutoring hours (Mon.-Thurs. 2pm-8pm). On average, peer tutors are scheduled for 8-12 hours of tutoring per week with shifts being 3-4 hrs in length.
Job Summary:Mandarin tutors will support students enrolled in CHI 100-400 level courses through scheduled, weekly 30-minutes, small group (1-1 students) tutoring sessions. Peer tutors will be responsible for preparing conversation discussion topics and questions each week in order to facilitate language practice.
In addition to attending regularly scheduled tutoring shifts, peer tutors will also: Fluent in Chinese (Mandarin) speaking and writing; critical thinking; creative problem solving; customer service; interpersonal communication; ability to work productively on a team; role model positive academic behaviors; leadership skills.
