Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant - The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods Southwoods Health is currently has an opening for a full-time and part-time Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant to work at The Surgical Hospital at Southwoods in Boardman, Ohio. Under general direction, the Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant assists with administering anesthetics and/or monitors the anesthetized patient during surgical and radiological procedures. Essential Duties: Evaluates the patient pre-operatively by interviewing and examining the patient, assesses data, selects appropriate anesthetic. Administers anesthetics in accordance with clinical privileges delineated and any conditions or restrictions imposed thereof. Monitors, interprets, and evaluates information derived from monitors intraoperatively on the patient of any age group and physical status; protects patient life functions and vital organs. Performs medical non-surgical procedures, i.e. IV insertion, intubation, hemodynamic and electrolyte balance, airway management in routine and acute medical situations. Monitors the patient post-operatively and performs evaluation of the patient. Prepares drugs; maintains anesthesia equipment to keep in safe operating condition. Maintains accounting of controlled substances. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Certification as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant AHA BLS and ACLS certification AHA PALS certification preferred Full-time and part-time available.
