Job Description The Career Skills Institute Program (CSI) at Harper College is a two-year, four semester non-credit program for students with mild cognitive disabilities. The instructor role at CSI supports academic growth, helps student recognize strengths and capabilities, builds basic employability skills, provides classroom and internship vocational training, and helps students develop realistic career plans.
Responsibilities Duties of Position: CSI instructor would lead a class between 10 -15 students and be able to present the curriculum in an interesting manner as the students work toward the desired outcomes of the classes. Instructors will be provided the curriculum and guidance but must be comfortable preparing for classes, presenting the material to the students, and skilled at taking the curriculum and adapting it for their unique strengths and capabilities.
Schedule Information: The Career Skills Institute instructors lead three classes on campus between 9am and 2pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursdays during the fall and spring semesters.
Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree and/or expertise in the area
Experience Requirements: Previous teaching experience preferred.
