About the Role
The Company is seeking five volunteer board members to join its dedicated team. The successful candidates will serve a two to three-year term, starting in November 2024, and will be instrumental in upholding the organization's mandate. The board operates on a results-based governance model and is not involved in operational decision-making. Instead, board members are expected to actively participate in committees and provide specific governance oversight. The positions are open to individuals across Canada, with a particular emphasis on welcoming applications from those with diverse lived experiences and from marginalized communities, including First Nations, Métis, Inuit, and other underrepresented groups. Board members at the company are not compensated but will have their reasonable expenses related to board duties reimbursed. There are at least four annual board meetings, and members will play a vital role in guiding the organization through its growth and strategic direction. The ideal candidates will be committed to the values of the organization, which include supporting reconciliation and promoting the belief that every child matters. Responsibilities for the board members include participating in board meetings, engaging in committee work, and contributing to the overall governance and strategic planning of the organization. The company is particularly interested in individuals who can bring a range of perspectives and experiences to the board, and who are passionate about the mission of the organization.
