About the Role
The Company is seeking up to five new Board Members / Trustees to join their mission of transforming the lives of disadvantaged children, young people, and families. The ideal candidates will have a range of skills, including a Chartered Accountant with strong financial skills, particularly in charity accounting, an understanding of children's services or social care, experience in scrutiny or quality improvement, social investment, policy development in trauma-informed care, and learning and development. Lived experiences that foster empathy with the target beneficiaries are also highly valued. While not mandatory, an understanding of the demands of board-level governance and experience in a senior role within Corporate, Public, or Third sector environments would be an advantage. Board Members / Trustees at the company are expected to provide efficient, effective, and accountable governance, ensuring that the organization is professionally managed and aligned with its objectives. These are non-remunerated roles, but expenses are covered. The successful candidates will be instrumental in leading one of Scotland's prominent children's charities, and their diversity and unique contributions will be welcomed to better represent the communities served. The positions require a commitment to attend regular board and committee meetings, as well as a Board Development Day each year.
