We're a reputable Transmission & Auto Repair shop in Modesto, committed to providing our customers with exceptional service and dependable solutions for all their automotive needs. We're looking for a talented and motivated Mechanic who shares our commitment to quality and reliability.

What You'll Do:

As an integral part of our service team, you'll be responsible for a wide range of diagnostic, repair, and maintenance tasks on light and medium-duty vehicles. You'll leverage your expertise to ensure our customers drive away with confidence, knowing their vehicles are in excellent condition. Your day-to-day will involve:

  • Accurately preparing and maintaining detailed vehicle records and reports, both on paper and using our computer system.
  • Performing comprehensive repairs and preventative maintenance, including engine work, brake service, and intricate electrical system diagnostics.
  • Conducting thorough safety inspections on vehicles and equipment, ensuring all documentation meets regulatory and company standards.
  • Adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies to guarantee all work is performed safely and to the highest standards.
  • Accessing all areas of vehicles and equipment to effectively perform maintenance and repairs.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving vehicle issues with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and initiative.
  • Clearly documenting all work performed and communicating effectively with fellow team members and supervisors regarding job status and updates.
  • Operating manual transmission vehicles to accurately diagnose operational issues.
  • Contributing to the smooth operation of our shop by assisting with facility maintenance and other assigned tasks.
  • Supporting our warehousing efforts, including maintaining a clean and organized space, managing inventory, and performing light building maintenance.

What You'll Bring:

  • Proven experience performing vehicle maintenance, encompassing diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance on light and medium-duty vehicles.
  • A valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Solid computer skills, including proficiency in using software for record-keeping and diagnostic purposes.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage your time effectively, showcasing strong initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly document work and communicate effectively with the team.
  • The ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle.
  • Your own set of essential hand tools and toolbox to perform your daily tasks. (Please note that the company will provide some specialized tools.)

Working Conditions:

You should be comfortable working in an environment where you may encounter:

  • Exposure to common automotive fluids and irritants such as oils and greases.
  • The need to move and position heavy objects, occasionally with the assistance of lifting equipment.
  • Physical demands include bending, stooping, crouching, kneeling, and crawling to access vehicle components.
  • The possibility of working outdoors in various weather conditions when necessary.

Pay Rate: $18.50 – $25.00 per hr.

Work Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
