Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Area Sales Manager to oversee and manage the relationship between our company and a national home builder in the solar industry. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure strong, lasting partnerships with home builder clients by providing top-tier training, guidance, and support to their sales agents. This role will be pivotal in driving solar sales growth, educating home builder sales teams on solar product offerings, and ensuring the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management:

    • Develop and nurture long-term, strategic relationships with key stakeholders, including home builder operations and sales teams.
    • Serve as the main point of contact between the company and the sales agents.
    • Collaborate with home builder teams to identify opportunities for growth and maximize solar product sales across new home developments.
  • Sales Training & Development:

    • Provide ongoing training to the home builder’s sales agents on solar solutions, features, benefits, and installation processes.
    • Develop and deliver customized sales presentations, workshops, and educational materials.
    • Ensure that sales agents are equipped with the knowledge and tools to effectively sell solar products to prospective homeowners.
  • Sales Support & Coaching:

    • Offer continuous support to sales agents, answering questions, providing feedback, and offering guidance during the sales process.
    • Analyze sales data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement actionable strategies.
    • Work closely with the home builder’s leadership to improve sales targets and KPIs.
  • Market Expansion & Strategy:

    • Identify new opportunities for solar adoption and expansion within the home builder’s portfolio.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team to create co-branded materials and strategies that align with both the solar company and the home builder’s goals.
    • Provide feedback and insights to both internal teams and the home builder to refine solar offerings and enhance market competitiveness.
  • Customer Satisfaction & Problem Resolution:

    • Ensure customer satisfaction by addressing any concerns or issues related to solar sales, installations, or product offerings.
    • Act as an escalation point for any critical customer complaints or issues within the builder's sales process.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in sales, preferably in the solar, renewable energy, or construction industries.
  • Proven experience in building and managing client relationships, particularly within the home building or real estate sector.
  • Strong understanding of solar products, systems, and installation processes.
  • Exceptional presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in training and developing sales teams.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Self-motivated with a results-driven approach and a track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.

Additional Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel within the designated region to visit home building sites, attend meetings, and conduct training sessions.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
  • Knowledge of the renewable energy industry and emerging trends is a plus.
