A nationally recognized architectural and design firm is seeking an Architectural Principal to lead the Sacramento office. This is a senior leadership role that will serve as a strategic resource for business development, office marketing initiatives, and design leadership. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for architecture, strong leadership capabilities, and a desire to impact both project design and firm growth. Key Responsibilities Lead business development and promotional efforts to secure new projects and client relationships. Provide strategic direction and mentorship to design and project management teams. Coordinate closely with marketing staff to drive consistent branding, outreach, and proposal responses. Manage presentation efforts and proposals for new business opportunities. Represent the firm at industry events, meetings, and networking opportunities. Support and develop a regional marketing budget and strategy. Maintain strong connections with industry partners, associations, and publications. Review and contribute to the firm’s award strategy and speaking engagements. Oversee documentation of new projects and ensure marketing files are up-to-date. Train staff in presentation and sales techniques to support business growth. Collaborate with company leadership on office direction, operations, and innovation. Commit to continuous learning and national design trend analysis to maintain thought leadership. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or equivalent required. Registered Architect preferred. 10+ years of experience in architectural project responsibility, including business development and team leadership. Strong ability to balance team collaboration with independent decision-making. Demonstrated ability to visualize and guide projects from concept through completion. A deep passion for architectural design and a commitment to ongoing professional development.
