API Architect

• Responsible for maintaining API governance and adhering to API architecture standards.
• Ensure client’s Kong API platform is fully operational for onboarding internal consumers.
• Aligning teams onboarding to Kong to the API transformation, API standards
• Implementing API Architecture standards and following REST guidelines.
• Reviewing, commenting, and suggesting improvements for API specifications.
• Maintaining the API design tool (Swaggerhub) including rules, CICD integrations, SSO, Etc.

• Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Computer Engineering.
• Full stack engineer, Expert in API Gateway, and capable of quickly learning Kong and Lua.
• Expert in REST API concepts such as Security and Governance.
• The candidate should be dedicated and a quick learner, able to build tools and utilities in other tech stacks as well, including Python and NodeJS.
• Show proficiency in API security standard processes and performance optimization techniques.
• Have experience in leading and mentoring development teams in a hybrid work environment.

Based on this role’s business requirements, this is a hybrid position requiring 2-3 days a week in a client or Cognizant office in Vancouver, BC. Regardless of your working arrangement, we are here to support a healthy work-life balance though our various wellbeing programs. The Annual Salary for this position is between CAD 120,500 to CAD 141,500 depending on the experience and other qualifications of the candidate.
